Unlocking what’s hidden in our minds

Dr. Jacopo Annese talks about the tools we have available now that will make a difference in our future.

With the advent of digital imaging, scientists are able to scan hundreds of thousands of slides to look for signs and markers for incurable diseases. In this video, from Huron Digital Pathology,  Dr. Jacopo Annese, Executive Director of the Human Brain Observatory, describes how digital imaging is enabling faster, more accurate pathological research. Not only does a digital workflow allow for the rapid scanning of a high volume of images, it helps researchers learn more about diseases of the brain and improve lives in the future. In short, results today will allow tomorrow’s doctors to compare living patient scans against the results of thousands of digital images to help move toward a more precise diagnosis of diseases in the future.
