Profile: Dr. Rex Lee — “A Love Affair with the Photon”
Never-ending curiosity is what drives Dr. Lee on his journey in digital imaging.
Dr. Rex Lee has taken many roles in his long career, including student, scientist, professor, and entrepreneur, but the spark of curiosity is still with him. His company Pyramid Imaging sells imaging components and systems (including some from Teledyne DALSA) and provides consulting advice related to imaging capture/acquisition, processing, and analysis.
In between wrestling with some of the most difficult imaging challenges and the most advanced imaging technology in the world, he maintains his fifth-grade sense of wonder at the ability of a photon to travel the length of the universe. We asked Dr. Lee for his perspective on the past, present, and future of imaging technology and its role in our lives.
